Bishkek, October 17, 17 / Kabar /. The Government of Kyrgyzstan today officially sent an appeal to the Secretariat of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the situation on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border. This is reported by the Information Support Department of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The basis of the appeal was the violation by Kazakhstan of the key norms of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade and the Agreement on the Establishment of the WTO.

"We are informing that the Republic of Kazakhstan suddenly imposed additional control measures on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh and Russian-Kazakh state borders on October 10, 2017.

We note that the average daily number of persons and vehicles from Kyrgyzstan at major and busiest checkpoints "Ak-Zhol" and "Ak-Tilek" after the introduction of additional control measures by the Kazakh side decreased by 2.4 times.

As a full member of the World Trade Organization, as well as the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic will fully defend its rights within the World Trade Organization, " the report said.
